A call center book that was published late of 2005 by Chetan Bhagat was turned into a film last year titled “Hello”, Bollywood style.
Though it might be old news to some readers, this caught my interest as this might be the first publication (a novel of about 300 pages) or perhaps that a few out there tells the story on outsourcing.
The reviews are very mixed and hard to determine whether it is worth reading or even watching. Some have said the lessons depicted in the story are enlightening, yet it paints a picture of racism.
As it is written by someone who hasn’t lived and breathed the industry, he made it look one sided. Comparing a call center to a sweat shop and having six people vent about their problems without understanding what it takes to work in one, is unfair.
Though a lot has happened after the book was written, it has only gained some ground on the international scene. What I’m worried about is that people outside of the “circle” will have a misconception of the industry.
I hope someone out there (who actually worked in a center) would write another novel that will show the other side of the spectrum.

This is interesting a book on call center is turning into a film. Hope people will watch this movie as a pure entertainment and will not have misconception about the industry.
