Did this catch your attention? It didn’t take me more than a second to read the article.
Believe it or not, there are call centers that have hired the blind and the visually impaired. It might be hard to imagine and will not sink in until you’ve managed to witness it yourself. It has definitely sparked my interest to research a little bit more; even have the chance to see it for myself.

They decided to focus on training them on computer skills and customer service utilizing different training techniques and methodologies that are necessary to land a job in the call center industry.
As expected, technology has been enhanced, both hardware and software in order to assist them in their jobs. Either they have programs that make text larger for those who are not totally blind and have bigger monitors or they use a screen reader like JAWS (Job Access With Speech) for Windows.
This to me just proves that the industry has opened its doors to yet another market for great talent. It makes me even more proud to be part of it. I call on to the recruitment department to strategize around this idea.
