Everyday at work and through emails I receive a lot of questions. Believe it or not, the questions are not as “frequent” as I’d expect it to be, which is why I’m not going to put up a FAQ category. But they are indeed everyday and simple questions that for veterans are trivial.
So, I’m going to start answering these questions, my own way. I’ll pick some that are serious, funny and interesting. You might even think of answering them yourselves and we can collate all answers in one post. A bit of warning here. Not all my answers will be as serious as the question, so expect a bit of a giggle one way or another. So, here goes:
Q: Call center personnel wear headsets all day long and it usually messes up our hair. What is the best way to fix your hair?
A: For girls who have long hair, the best would be wearing a pony tail. For men, if you could put some gel to flatten it a bit (not way too much though or you’ll look like you’re from the mob). A mirror can be useful on your station, so you could check yourself once in a while.
Q: What do you do for fun in a call center?
A: We’re normal people and it isn’t different from other jobs in other industries. What is interesting though is that there are a lot of incentives and contests which is really fun. What’s good is that mostly would go in groups, which makes it more enticing and memorable.
Q: What do you do while waiting for the next call?
A: You can bring a book to read if the queue is not too heavy. You can spend time going through the knowledge base system you have and keep yourself updated. Some centers allow little games such as solitaire or text twist. Just make sure you’re ready for your next call.
More questions and answers in the next few days.
