Currently, the demand for competent agents is still growing in the country. The competition to recruit them is tough. Today, agents are jumping from one center to another to hopefully get the best compensation to keep up with the rise of expenses. Here is a guide for those who are looking for employment in the and companies that intend to move their services.
An agent’s base pay now would be around PhP 13,000 ($254.27 based on a $1:P51.125 exchange rate) a month. This is PhP 433.33 ($8.47) a day. A whopping PhP 25,000 ($489.00) a month is the highest thus far. Usually, those who can speak a second language such as Chinese Mandarin, French or Spanish earn higher.
To show yet another perspective, as of March 2006, the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) states that the country’s daily minimum wage is P237.56 ($4.64) with the highest being that in the Metro Manila which stands at P325 ($6.35).
Due to this fact, it is the norm to expect applicants flock to call centers instead of sticking it out in another industry.

I *just* arrived back from Manila and I do have to agree that the call centers provide incredible wages for people in the Philippines. Some of my cousins have associates who are working in the call centers and it can be a very stable, regular, high income job. If a typical security guard makes about 7000 pesos a month, then think about what a call center job can help with in terms of the family's financial status.
