I work from home and I love it. I interact with my kids and family more and my quality of life is better.
However, I know dozens and dozens of people, family and friends that wish they had a legitimate Work from Home job. The challenge is that there are so many scams out there that take advantage of this pent -up demand.
Work From Home Momma has been telling about her experience trying to be hired as a West Inbound agent and mentioned a Utah-based call center that hired remote agents. I thought I would mention a few legitimate work from home call center jobs that I was aware of and could personally vouch for and see if anyone else had more to add to the list:
Tim's List of Legitimate Work From Home Call Center Jobs (all Inbound Calls)
West's Work at Home Agents - West Corporation is one of the world's largest call centers. I did several joint projects with West years ago and always found them to be professional and dedicated to quality. Work at Home Momma tells about what is required to work for them and mentioned that the job she would be doing would be to take orders for a national pizza chain and enter the orders into her computer. There is a $100 bonus if you certify in time to take calls for New Year's Eve day and other selected dates.

Alpine Access - (Disclosure - I loved this company so much that I invested in it.) Alpine Access is currently hiring remote agents in Arizona, Colorado, Texas and Utah. Alpine handles inbound calls from some of the nation's top blue chip companies who require the ultimate in quality and agent quality. I know the founders Jim Ball and Steve Rockwood as well as the current CEO, Garth Howard. They are a quality outfit and one you can trust. You can apply here.
Willow CSN - Willow is the first at-home agent call center I ever heard, who started back in 1997 and now have over 2000 independent contractors. From what I understand, Willow requires each agent to set up a seperate corporation ( I would guess to avoid payroll issues and complex employment tax problems) and had some sizable fees, which Work at Home Momma details here. Mariela comments on what it takes to work with Willow. She says this about the type of work she does:
Some clients include, Office Depot, Carnival cruise lines, AAA (variety of them), Sears, Barnes and Noble, Disney, ect. That list is growing. You can create your own portfolio of clients.
Apply here for Willow.

O'Currance - I met Carla Meine back in the mid 90s and I knew she was going places. She bought the at home agent reservation system from Morris Air when it was bought out by Southwest Air (Southwest had their own at-home agent system already) and Carla built a call center around it. O'ccurance is currently only taking applications in the Utah region. Another outfit you can trust. You can apply at O'currance here.
Other in-house work-at-home call center jobs include reservations agents at JetBlue and Southwest Airlines.
Search for current jobs at JetBlue here (enter "Reservations Crew" into the box labeled "Keywords").

Search for current at-home reservation agent jobs at Southwest Airlines here.

From my understanding both of these jobs are highly sought after and it is hard to find an open position.
So these are the work-at-home call center jobs I can personally vouch for and tell you that I think they are legit.
Do you work for a quality work from home firm where you are a remote agent for their calls? Let us know what other companies we should add to our list!

Following my post from a few weeks ago about legitimate work at home call center jobs, I came across a post by Steve Bartin, wherein he refers to a Business Week article about the growing trend of at home call... [Read More]
